Residential and hotel interior spaces prioritize comfort and wellbeing. Guest suites, common areas, lobbies and corridors use warmer white tones, indirect lighting, concealed fixtures, and dimmable systems to allow mood variation (e.g. welcoming, relaxing, formal). Task lighting in hotel rooms and residential units is provided where needed (reading, work, dressing), balanced so that light quality is high (good color rendering, minimal glare) and energy use is efficient.
Project brief
In a development as diverse as Doha Oasis, lighting plays a vital role in creating distinct moods and atmospheres across its many functions. Retail mall corridors, flagship stores, and dining venues use layered lighting—with ambient general light, accent lighting for displays or façades, and decorative lighting features that contribute to luxury and brand identity. This helps highlight architecture, finishes, signage, and visual focal points.
The indoor theme park (“Doha Quest”) is illuminated to energize and entertain: dynamic lighting effects, color washes, dynamic theatrical lighting, and accent lighting are combined with well-controlled general lighting so rides and attractions are visible, safe, but also visually dramatic. High ceilings, skylights (where present), and transparent/ translucent architectural elements allow daylight to be integrated during the day, reducing dependency on electric lighting.
